Meet Oliver Goldsmith
Senior Clinical Research Coordinator
Oliver Goldsmith is committed to supporting the psychedelic healing movement through clinical research initiatives that focus on understanding the efficacy of psychedelic treatment for mental health and holistic wellbeing.
About Oliver
- Oliver became interested in psychedelic treatment options through his involvement in harm reduction, an evidence-based movement seeking to reduce the harm associated with substance use through various public health interventions. In these spaces, Oliver repeatedly witnessed firsthand the transformative power psychedelics inculcated when combined with compassionate peer support.
Background & Education
- Oliver earned his BA in Psychology from New College of Florida. After graduating, he began his career in addiction counseling before transitioning to mental health counseling with high-risk adolescents.
- With training in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and therapeutic crisis de-escalation, Oliver often felt limited in his ability to bridge the gap between patients’ understanding of their mental wellbeing and their ability to create positive change in their lives. This led Oliver to transition to a career in clinical research as a way of contributing to the refinement of mental health treatment options in America.
Oliver's Areas of Specialization
- Oliver has been involved as a study coordinator on a Compass Pathways phase III clinical trial exploring psilocybin for treatment resistant depression.
- He is currently supporting clinical operations for multiple MindMed studies researching LSD for major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder as well as an atai Therapeutics study researching DMT for treatment resistant depression.
- In addition to his role as study coordinator, Oliver also fills the role of assistant dosing session monitor for these studies.
